Rag Top Unit
Organized 1979
The purpose of the Rag Top Unit is to participate in all Shrine functions by order of the Colonel of the Uniformed Units; and/or the consent of the Potentate of Aleppo Temple.
Vehicles are preferred to be American-made vehicles; however, convertible vehicles of foreign manufacture will be accepted. The cars are personally owned and maintained by the individual Unit members and must meet the standard of the Unit.
The Unit does not provide uniforms. Each member shall provide a proper uniform consisting of a black tuxedo with red piping (for the winter months), and a yellow blazer for summer Tours of Duty. Each member must also procure a jeweled Rag Top Unit fez.
If you are a vehicle owner, and participate in Shrine Tours of Duty, you must carry a one million-dollar umbrella insurance rider on your vehicle.
The initiation fee is $25.00, with annual dues of $10.00 per member. The Unit meets as required for round table discussions and assignments. The Unit provides transportation for dignitaries, as well as senior members of other Units who are unable to march.
As a member of the Rag Top Unit, you are requested to participate in as many meetings, fund raisers, social events and Tours of Duty as possible.
