ON November 8, members of the Aleppo Fire Brigade were presented over 32,000 pull-tabs for the Aleppo Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund. Accepting those tabs were Deputy Chief Gary Bartlett, Captain Earl Bethune and Lieutenant/Photographer Carl Ohlson. Not only do they collect the pull-tabs, but they use the tabs as part of their math and science curriculum. MCCPS have been involved in the pull-tab program for over six years and are well acquainted with children helping children. We thank teachers Jenn Stoddard and Phyllis Aldrich for their assistance.

DEPUTY CHIEF Gary Bartlett, Sue Manfredonia (daughter of the late Phil Kumph), and the Environmental Eagles (Students).
On Friday November 30, Deputy Chief Gary Bartlett and Lieutenant Carl Ohlson, of the Aleppo Fire Brigade, paid a visit to the Captain Samuel Brown Elementary School. Over 300 students were in attendance. We thanked them for their collection of over 30,000 tabs for the Aleppo Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund. We explained how they are helping children receive care at our hospitals. All students received one of the new tab brochures.
The collection of tabs is under the direction of the Environmental Eagles, made up of students within the school. Their teacher/advisor is Suzanne Manfredonia, daughter of the late Noble Phil Kumph. Phil and his wife Connie helped to start the program, over three years ago. It is still going strong. Keep up the great work!
