North Shore Shrine Club News

Posted on December 23, 2020

(Above is a presentation of $31,855 from the North Shore Shrine Club to Ill. Potentate Gary Bartlett for the Aleppo Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund.

The North Shore Shrine Club continues to move forward even with the COVID-19 pandemic being a daily occurrence in our lives. With the efforts of Noble Leon Golden and his intrepid group of volunteers, the Red Canning program has been ongoing – even on a scaled-back version. Volunteers have been getting out to the supermarkets and other regular locations and their efforts continue to reap the benefits.

The NSSC is very grateful to all of the canning volunteers for their countless hours of time and energy meeting and greeting the public as we get out the word and purpose of Aleppo Shriners.

Throughout this time of uncertainty and concern in our lives and as we remain conscious of social distancing, if you feel that you can safely give some of your time to the canning effort, won’t you please give Noble Leon a call – he would greatly appreciate your assistance. The more help that is available, the more benefit to our philanthropic cause.

It is a reminder to all volunteers that when out canning in the public as Shriners they are to wear their fez as a representative of Aleppo Shriners and the NSSC.
At the Board of Director’s meeting in October, nomination and election of officers was held. Noble Gary Freedman will serve NSSC as President for 2021. Other elected members include – Nobles Howard “Flipz” Hernandez, 1st Vice-President; Cliff Critch, 2nd Vice President; David Fink, Treasurer; David Cross, Assistant Treasurer; Ernest Pearlstein, Secretary; and Gary Bartlett, Assistant Secretary. At our last Board of Directors meeting in November, the NSSC made a check presentation to Ill. Gary Bartlett, Potentate, in the amount of $31,855.00. This brings the club’s 2020 yearly total donated to Aleppo to $133,685.00.

Although we cannot be together socially at this time, the officers of NSSC continue to keep all our members and their extended families in our thoughts and prayers and send our heartfelt best wishes to remain healthy and to be safe at all times.

NSSC is always looking for new members; you can speak to any officer or member for more details.
