In a year that we can classify as just weird, organizations that pride themselves on charity and community service have certainly had to adapt. The brethren of Charles W. Moore Masonic Lodge in Fitchburg MA, and the Nobles from Fitchburg/Leominster Shrine Club have done just that. They have teamed up with local and international businesses to give a helping hand and take time out of their weekends to get that help to those in need.
On Saturday, Oct. 5th (left to right) Wor. Bro. Michael Cook and Shrine President Noble Karl Edmands Fitch/Leominster Shrine Club (Aleppo Shriners, based in Wilmington, MA) delivered 250 pairs of socks to the Pepperell Senior Center, represented by Susan McCarthy. The socks were donated through collaboration with a local non-profit Operation Service, Fitchburg, MA and The Bombas Sock Company. Bombas’s Mission has been to help those experiencing homelessness. For every item that is purchased, they donate an item. Through this same venture Charles W. Moore also plans to donate an additional 750 socks to the local elementary schools. A total of 1000 socks to those in need because these motivated men worked hard to coordinate with other organizations and made it happen.
“Being able to coordinate our desire to support our community with an organization like Bobmas Sock Co. and the network Charles W Moore Masonic Lodge and the Fitchburg/Leominster Shrine Club were able to bring to the table made this a seamless transition from idea to completion. It was a pleasure to work with all these great organizations and make it happen.” Bro. Joe Firmani, Director Operation Service.
