On April 24, 2021, the Shrine Club of the Dominican Republic and Aleppo Shriners held a Ceremonial to initiate 19 new Nobles. Unfortunately the delegates from Aleppo were unable to join their brethren in the Dominican with the travel bans in place so the next best thing was done, a Zoom Ceremonial!”
The Zoom meeting was organized so that the Potentate could communicate with the new candidates. Members of the Shrine Club volunteered to take part in the Ceremony so that it could be “live” for the candidates. Maribel, our Executive Assistant, helped to translate the Ceremony and Ritual (words and signs excluded), to Spanish. The entire Ceremony was able to be done in Spanish. Although many of the new candidates and Shrine Club members speak English, Spanish, allowed all of the new candidates to understand what the Ceremonial meant.”
The Shriner’s Creed, The Fez Lecture, and the Obligation all have meaning. To hear it in your native tongue certainly allows more of it to “sink in”. The Ritualistic Degree Team rose to the occasion and were on-hand ready to fill for any part of the Ceremony, also in Spanish. One last benefit of this special ceremonial – I’m pretty sure ALL of the candidate joined Shrine Club Dominicano. “Dar la Bienvenida a los Nuevos Noble”
