The Charles River Valley Shrine Club held its first business meeting of 2021 at Agostino’s in Natick on Monday, March 29. Not a big deal, right – business meetings happen all the time. But, this Shrine Club only meets on the 5th Monday of a month. Not a huge time commitment – about four times a year. It is easy to join. There are only a few boring meetings, and we attend the fun events supporting Aleppo Shriners.
At this in-person dinner meeting, we gathered safely for dinner, became reacquainted, and met our 2021 Potentate Rob Johnson and First Lady Cathy. They were joined by Chief Rabban Bob Brown and Lady Ilene.
Following dinner, we heard updates on the successes and struggles of both the Springfield and Boston Shriners Hospitals as well as how great Aleppo Shrine Center has adjusted to get through the pandemic challenges. Also, as shown in the photo, a donation was made to the Aleppo General Fund to Illustrious Rob Johnson by Club President Rob Havener.
We are looking forward to April’s ZOOM ceremonial with our Dominican Republic Shrine Center, the Memorial Day parade in Wilmington, and the June 19th Steak Ceremonial and Strawberry Festival. Once again, we are planning to host our almost-annual Potentate’s Reception in October – a Mustache and Wig Party.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list for our scheduled meetings in 2021 – May 31, August 30 and November 29 please contact Rob Havener at firstname.lastname@example.org. Great people! Great times!
Don’t let your guard down, get your vaccine, continue the protocols and guidelines. Hope to see you soon! Stay safe!
