This past February, the Pipes and Drums performed at Julio’s Liquors in Westborough, for the eighth year in a row! This event gets bigger and better every year! The band was in fine form and sounded great! We played throughout the day; but as soon as we stopped, the guests always asked for more! With some help from our Potentate Ill. Harlan Woods, Noble Lloyd Wentzel, Noble Brian Reebel, Noble Wayne Bogar and a few additional friends, we sold crystal Glen Cairn glasses to raise money which will be shared between both of our Massachusetts hospitals. To date, we have raised more than $45,000.00! We extend our sincerest thanks to Ryan Maloney, owner of Julio’s, for his continued support and generosity. The Pipes and Drums performed flawlessly at the spring commencement ceremony for Wentworth Technical Institute. This year it was held at the Boston Convention Center in the seaport district. We have had the honor of participating for more than 40 years with the exception of just two or three years. There are two ceremonies held each year, spring and summer, and the band is always warmly received. We have already been booked to perform at the summer commencement. We have played for so many of these ceremonies, but it is always a thrill to see the excitement as we pipe in the faculty and graduates. If you are attending, keep an eye out for us!
We are still in search mode for a new bass drummer. If you are, or know someone who is interested in becoming a bass drummer for the Aleppo Shrine Pipes and Drums, please have him contact any one of the individuals below. The band provides the musical instruction for all levels of piping and drumming, the uniforms, comaradery, and did I mention that we have a lot of fun too!
To any and all Nobles who may have an interest in wearing a kilt, and having fun, and to learn how to play the pipes or drums, and march with pride and dignity, we meet every Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the conference room on the 2nd floor at the auditorium for practice, or you can call any of the following numbers:
