The Shriner Clowns-Aleppo Clown Unit’s 2019 Awards Banquet was held on December 7th at the Shoreway Acres Inn in Falmouth, MA. Aleppo clowns with their ladies and guests spent the weekend enjoying some great R&R times together, and the smiles were evident throughout the three-day event. This was the culmination of a year’s work entertaining folks, and when the tally was completed, over 3000 hours in costume and makeup were performed by the Aleppo Clowns Unit. The money raised during the year supported the Shrine Hospitals for Children, the Sneaker Fund for Burns Research, the Aleppo Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund, the Heritage Fund and the causes of Aleppo Shrine.
Illustrious Potentate Rob Havener and his Lady Linda joined in the fun, along with Gary Bartlett, Chief Rabban and his Lady Gloria, Cliff Critch and his Lady Janice. Boss Clown Joe “JoKo-KoKo” Kohen was the perfect host. He was supported by his able Assistant Boss Clowns, Keith “Raskel” Parker, Jeff “Zeke” Zesch and Scott “Snarfie” Lakin, who coordinated a luncheon on Saturday, a Yankee Swap and the awards banquet. Also, a fantastic hospitality room was open all weekend, run by Donald “Angus” Coutoumas and his Lady Linda Coutoumas. This entire weekend was a group effort, and the unit is stronger than ever. Finally, the clowns paraded down Main Street on Sunday, which was the final Parade of the year for the group. What a great weekend.
Awards were presented by Joe “JoKo-KoKo” Kohen and Ill. Rob Havener as follows:
